Business Journal: MLB's Apple Watch ban creates sweet opportunity for KC company

Controversy over Ned Yost's Apple Watch created an opportunity for a Kansas City company, KCTV 5 reports.

Yost, manager of the Kansas City Royals, began sporting the Apple Watch during games and other managers followed suit. But Major League Baseballsoon banned the watch, citing potential violations of its smartphone policy.

That's when luxury watchmaker Niall stepped up to give Yost his very own custom watch featuring a royal blue dial. The company normally makes black-faced watches, but made a special exception for Yost, who's now wearing his new watch at games.

"It's a beautiful watch," Yost told KCTV. "It's the only one in the world so it's pretty cool."
